FIFA 12 | Lower League Gems – Right midfielders (winter update)

I realise I may not have made it clear at first – this article refers to players’ stats after the winter update.

So here is the first of two articles on wide players, this time on right mids. I am classing right wingers as right midfielders, as it’s just easier to have them together. Though of course they are different – wingers are further up the pitch than right midfielders (or RMs) and are more focused on scoring goals, rather than creating them. They are usually skilled at dribbling, whilst RMs are better at crossing. Anyway, here are my recommendations:

  • Marco Rojas
  • Brian Span
  • Jon Taylor
  • Aaron Doran

Marco Rojas is, like Oussama Tannane in the attacking midfielders article, one of my favourite players in this series. He has great potential, is quick, has good dribbling skills, has a 5 star weak foot and can do 4 star skill moves, and all that for just £700,000. What more could you want in a winger? He easily takes the number 1 spot for me.

Brian Span is another good choice because he excels where others fail – not only is he very fast (acceleration 88, sprint 84), but he is also very strong as well. Too many wingers will simply be knocked off the ball by defenders, but not this guy. £475,000 is a great price for someone who will soon have the speedster and strength badges, and perhaps more.

A lot of people have recommended Jon Taylor around the web, and with good reason. He’s already a speedster, and has great stamina (80), so he can run all game, making him especially potent when the opposition starts to tire. Furthermore, you can bring him on as an impact sub late on and opposing defenders simply won’t be able to deal with him. His 4 star skills are a really nice bonus too, and he’s also the cheapest of my recommendations, both in terms of cost (£450,000) and wages (£1,000).

Finally, if you need a great crosser of the ball, look no further than Aaron Doran. A lot of players in this list specialise in either dribbling or crossing, but Doran excels at both. He’s even good at shooting and is surprisingly good in the air for someone who is 5’7″! Don’t worry about his price, as it will fluctuate a lot, so be sure to keep checking on him to guarantee yourself a bargain.

These figures refer to the winter update stats. As always, please bear in mind that these figures may not be exactly the same on your game. These stats are taken from my own personal experiences, but are likely to be very similar to those on your own game. The best thing to do is to make sure you keep checking these players, as their prices may change radically after a while.

Players are ordered by potential, then cost, so it should be pretty simple to find someone who meets both your budget and ability/potential requirements.

Finally, if you’ve had any experiences of good players’ prices changing wildly (especially if their price drops), please post it in the comments!

So, without further ado, here are the players:
