FIFA 15 | Lower League Gems – Left midfielders

To skip to the full list of players, click here

The Lower League Gems series is back once again, bringing you super cheap high potential players. If you liked the series on the best cheap players in FIFA 15 but felt they were too expensive, these are the articles for you – every player will cost you £1m or less!

NOTE: Prices seem to fluctuate a bit on FIFA 15, so you may find the prices listed in this article are slightly different on your game. As such, this article aims to be a guide only and hopes to highlight some of the cheaper options when it comes to high potential players.

If you’re not sure what these articles are all about, click the bold link below. Otherwise, let’s get straight in to the article.

These articles aim to highlight young, high potential players that are priced at £1m or less. If a player is not available to buy straight away, their maximum price (in the ‘Cost’ column; see below) is £500,000. Most articles will showcase players with a minimum potential of 76 (although in some cases having a minimum potential of 77 brought back more than enough players).

This year I made a couple of exceptions to the price rules. I have included players whose clubs want £1.1m for them (as opposed to a maximum price of £1m) because you can negotiate this down to under £1m, and in some cases excluding these players meant to articles were lacking players you could actually buy straight away! For the same reason I have bumped the £500,000 rule up to just under £600,000 (e.g. £525,000, £575,000, etc).

The ‘Cost’ column refers to the price your scout will bring back after he’s looked at the player. The ‘They want’ column refers to the price you will be quoted by the team if you enquire about their player. These enquiry prices are negotiable, so don’t be afraid to bid below what they want.

The ‘Avai?’ column is short for ‘Available?’ and refers to whether the player is available to buy in the first transfer window. The first letter indicates this (Y for yes, they are available and N for no, they are not), whilst the number refers to the length of their contract. Y/1 means the player’s contract is about to expire, so you should be able to get them for a discount price.

Finally, because EA release update squads every week, this could mean that some of the players listed in the article below are slightly different on your game. Furthermore, players sometimes exceed their potential, while it has been noted that occasionally players don’t grow as hoped. Therefore these stats are a guide only.

Here are my recommendations for cheap, high potential left midfielders and left wingers.

Cristian Ceballos: potential 76

FIFA 15 best cheap left midfielders for under £1m

Cristian Ceballos is a very flexible player who can play on the wing or as an attacking midfielder

It’s not often you can get players as good as Cristian Ceballos for under £1m. His 75 dribbling, 72 ball control and 83 balance will make him ideal if you like taking on and beating defenders, while his 79 acceleration and 76 sprint speed means he’s fast enough to beat them with his pace too. He can score you goals thanks to his 74 penalties and 65 finishing, and that’s aided by his 73 curve, which should add more danger to his shots from distance.

But there’s more to him than that. His good vision and passing mean he can play as an attacking midfielder if you prefer, where his high dribbling and ball control will also be used to good effect. His decent crossing, combined with that 74 curve, will make him an ideal left midfielder if you’re looking to supply a tall target man in the box.

With his high OVR, Cristian Ceballos may not look like he’s going to be available cheaply. However, because he’s not figuring in Spurs’ first team plans, they’re willing to quote you a price of £525,00 for him – that’s less than then £700,000 your scout thinks he’s worth – so you can get him for around £350,000 – £400,000. A scout valuation like that normally results in an enquiry price of around £1.5m at least, so this is an amazing bargain. His wages are £10,000.

Queensy Menig: potential 76

FIFA 15 best cheap left midfielders for under £1m

Queensy Menig is extremely cheap but develops quickly into a dangerous winger

If Ceballos is a little too expensive for your team, however, have a look at Queensy Menig. His lower wages and rock bottom price will make him affordable to almost any team in the game.

But don’t think you’re getting a useless player here. Despite his low cost, Menig is a very capable winger. With 82 acceleration and 81 sprint speed, as well as 77 agility, he’s got the pace and guile to beat defenders with ease. His standout technical stats are his ball control and dribbling – 66 and 68 respectively – which will combine well with his speed to make him a deadly threat out wide. And thanks to his 76 potential, there’s a good chance they will be up into the 80s by the time he gets near his potential.

Even though your scout values him at £200,000, Ajax want just £180,000 for Menig. This means you can get him for around £120,000. Combined with his £1,750 wages, he is a super cheap player with tons to offer your team.

Jaime Alejander Martino: potential 77

FIFA 15 best cheap left midfielders for under £1m

Jaime Alejander Martino is a free agent, which means he could be available very cheaply

My next recommendation, Jaime Alejander Martino, is one of the best players I came across when making this article. His 88 acceleration and 88 sprint speed will make him a devastating winger, and his 82 balance will see him weaving in and out of defenders over and over again. His dribbling and ball control combination (76 and 77 respectively) was one of the highest combinations I came across and will be will be fantastic assets straight away, while his other attacking stats (finishing, shot power, penalties, etc) are all decent and will improve as he develops.

He is an interesting one – despite the above screenshot, he’s actually a free agent, so his price, wages and contract length will vary (I assigned him to a team so I could show you his stats). At the start of a carer he’s assigned to a random team. If he gets put on a world class team where he won’t get much game time, they’ll be willing to offload him cheaply. This means it’s always worth enquiring about him to see how much you can get him for.

Your scout’s valuation will be £500,000, and remember the example of Cristian Ceballos – his value was £700,000, but we could get him for around £400,000. So send off an enquiry to whichever team Martino ends up at, because with stats like these, he can make a huge impact at your club.

NOTE: Martino is a clone of Josef Alexander Martínez. However, because EA doesn’t have a license to put Venezuelan players in the Venezuelan national team, they created a clone (Martino) and put him in the national team instead. This is great for us, because it means there’s always a chance of getting Martino for a very low price.
