The idea behind these articles is providing quality players to teams limited funds. With that in mind, none of the players in these articles cost more than £1m.
As before, remember that player contracts have a huge impact. The fewer years left on the contract, the more likely you are to get a good deal. So if a player only has 1 year left on his contract you can get him for much less than his asking price. As such, I’ve added a column that says how many years are left on each player’s contract, and whether you can get him in the first transfer window. That’s the “Avai?” column (short for “available?”). To save space I’ve formatted it like this: Y/3 would mean yes, you can buy this player in the first window, and he has 3 years left on his contract. If it says something like “N/5″ that means he has a 5 year contract and you can’t get him at first (the “N” is because he’s just joined the club), but you may be able to get them in the next window. The ones to look out for are Y/1 or Y/0, as some players only have months left on their contracts. Players who are on loan will have a “-” in this column because information on their contracts is not available.
This has been a great year for cheap players on FIFA. So much so in fact, that I’ve had to make the minimum potential 76 (last year it was 74) because there are just so many cheap, talented players out there! So the players on these lists will have a minimum potential of 76, will cost no more than £1m and will be aged no older than 25.
This article will focus on forward-lying attacking midfielders. These players come in two types. One type of CAM is very quick and has great dribbling, often with good finishing and crossing as well. These players would do very well on out the wing. The other type have excellent vision and passing, and sit just behind the strikers with the intention of providing them with great service all game long. If you’re considering buying a player from this list, check out his stats to determine which role he falls into and whether this is the type of player you’re looking for.
Here are my recommendations:
- Vyacheslav Podberezkin
- Leandro Paredes
- Abdallah Yaisien
- Will Hughes
My first tip is for Vyacheslav Podberezkin. Whilst there are two main types of CAM, he embodies both. He becomes very quick with good stamina and is great at both dribbling and passing. His vision is good so he can set up goalscoring opportunities, but his shooting also becomes very good (especially his long shots), so he can score them himself. He also grows very fast – on my career he’s age 22 and OVR 77 already! If you’re looking for the perfect versatile attacking midfielder, this is it.
Next is Leandro Paredes, and he is more of the traditional type of CAM that sits behind the strikers. He’s got four stars for his weak foot and his skills moves, so he can easily beat players no matter which side of the pitch he’s playing on. His main strength is his short passing and he’ll be a consistent provider of service to your strikers and thus an essential component of your team’s attack.
Third up is Abdallah Yaisien. He’s the speedy type of CAM that can be deployed on the wing of a 4-3-3 formation. Unfortunately his stamina is quite low, but you can get around this by utilising him as an impact sub. His pace and four star skill moves mean that he’ll easily beat opposition players who are tiring near the end of a game, and that can make all the difference. Use him this way until his stamina gets higher and he’ll be a fantastic acquisition. He’s also very cheap, only having one year left on his contract.
If you’re on a very limited budget then I recommend you have a look at Will Hughes. With only a year left on his contract you’ll only have to pay around £300,000 for him. Even better, despite being a CAM he’s actually quite versatile, with good interceptions and marking as well as dribbling and passing. Use him right across the midfield and he should fit in wherever he’s put.
Players are ordered by potential, then cost, so it should be pretty simple to find someone who meets both your budget and ability/potential requirements.
Finally, if you’ve had any experiences of good players’ prices changing wildly (especially if their price drops), please post it in the comments!
