So I was thinking…

Really, my series of articles on finding promising young gems in the game (‘So You Want A…’) is most useful to those who play with medium to large clubs, i.e. those with decent budgets. Most of the players in my articles cost at least a few million pounds, and even the cheapest cost at least £1m in almost every case.

Yet there are a huge number of clubs in the game that simply don’t have the funds to be able to afford players that cost that much (at least not right away). So where can they find great young players with bags of potential?

Over the coming days and weeks I’ll be posting a new series of articles. Like the ‘So You Want A…’ articles they’ll focus on finding promising young players, one position at a time. However, the players in this new series will cost no more than £1m and will be aged between 16 and 21 (in order to keep it concise!). They will all have potential of at least 74, meaning even those teams with the most restrictive of budgets will be able to buy players that can carry them forward and develop well.

Hopefully this will now mean that even those who start out with the likes of Crawley Town or CD Alcoyano will be able to build for the future without breaking the bank.
