Branching out from FIFA Scouting Tips

As you know from a a previous article, I have been thinking of integrating more feature/news content into FIFA Scouting Tips. I had a few ideas, and had some really good ones from the community, but in the end I just decided it was not something that would really work on FIFA Scouting Tips.

This site is primarily a resource. It’s a place for people to come if they have a problem and need a solution, or if they’re simply looking for the next big addition to their squad. Over its history it has never really been a features site, or anything beyond a resource, and I was concerned that if I took it in that direction then it would alienate you, the readers.

So here’s what I’m thinking. FIFA Scouting Tips will continue in its current form. Nothing will change, you’ll still get regular updates to the So You Want A series, Lower League Gems, information on good career mode teams and everything else that you want to see. But, separately from that, I am going to launch a different website to cover gaming features across a broader spectrum of titles. It would be a space for interviews, features, guest posts, and everything else that wouldn’t really fit on FIFA Scouting Tips.

It would not just focus on FIFA (although, of course, that would feature prominently), but take a wider look at the industry behind the headlines. Who are the people with the big ideas, and what are they doing? What truly changed the industry and made it what it is today? What bands have had a big break after having a song featured in a major title, and are video games a useful means of promotion for bands? What does the rise of mobile gaming mean for console platforms, and what about its impact on human productivity? Or on human culture? These are the sorts of questions the new site will attempt to answer.

But this wouldn’t just be about me. If you have a great idea or there’s something you would like to write about, I would love to hear from you. This wouldn’t be a vanity project. It would be a community site for gamers, written and created by gamers. You, as the audience and as gamers, are key to this.

So if this is something that you would like to see or would like to get involved in, please do let me know. I’d love to hear what you think about this and see where we can take it. I’ll be updating you with more news on the site over the next few days.

Thanks again for all your support!
